Wurth Electronics' AMB8636 is a compact wireless module with half-duplex communication for long ranges. The integrated microprocessor controls data communication, handling packet and checksum formation, addressing, and packet re-transmission.
The host system does not have to perform any radio-specific tasks. The module is highly configurable and supports data transfer with fast channel and address switching. One way to assess the quality of the radio link is using the measured field strength (RSSI value).
Interfaces
The AMB8636 connects with the host system via the UART interface with data rates up to 115.2 kbps. Other pins can be used to implement data flow control and to switch between operating modes. With the appropriate firmware, the module is also suitable for autonomously recording digital or analog signals.
