MIC28515 Switching Buck Regulators

The MIC28515 from Microchip Technology is an adjustable frequency synchronous buck regulator that features a unique adaptive on-time control architecture. The MIC28515 operates over an input supply range of 4.5 V to 75 V and provides a regulated output of up to 5 A. The output voltage is adjustable down to 0.6 V with an accuracy of ±1%. The MIC28515 offers a "Mode" select pin allowing the user to choose between Hyper Light Load® and Hyper Speed Control® operations. The Hyper Speed Control proprietary architecture allows for an ultra-fast transient response while reducing the output capacitance. It also offers a full suite of protection features to ensure safe operation of the device during fault conditions. These include UVLO, external soft start to reduce current inrush, hiccup current limit short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. The MCP28515 is available in a 38-pin 6 mm x 6 mm PQFN with a junction operating range from –40°C to +125°C and is ideal for distributed power systems, solar energy, networking infrastructure, and industrial power supply applications.
