Artesyn Embedded Technologies' LCM600 series of 2U high distributed power front-end AC/DC power supplies provide an ultra-cost-effective bulk power solution. The series comprises five models, offering outputs of 12 V, 15 V, 24 V, 36 V, and 48 V, together with an optional 5 V standby output. The models accept a universal input of 85 VAC to 264 VAC and have a typical full-load efficiency of 89%. The power supplies are designed for systems that use a distributed power architecture (DPA) or a point-of-load (POL) scheme. A built-in OR-ing FET allows up to 10 units to be connected in parallel for high-current applications.
These digitally controlled power supplies feature an I2C interface that allows the output voltage to be programmed up to 20% either side of nominal for voltage margin testing.
The LCM600 series are industry’s low-cost, 600 W AC/DC power supplies maintaining Artesyn Embedded Technologies' high standards of quality and reliability, demonstrated by an MTBF of greater than 500,000 hours under normal operating conditions. A wide array of safety approvals makes the series ideal for a variety of applications in industrial, medical, military, process automation, and digital signage/display markets. The power supplies output power density is 7.41 W per cubic inch. The devices come equipped with variable speed smart fans supported by integrated controls to enhance reliability and achieve higher levels of energy efficiency.
The LCM600 series is equipped with active power factor correction (PFC) rated at 0.99 typical to minimize input harmonic current distortion. power supplies feature active AC inrush controls that limit inrush current at power-on to 25 A and is protected against overvoltage conditions up to 145%. The devices can be equipped with an optional 5 V auxiliary output for powering standby circuitry when minimizing unplanned downtime and enhancing serviceability are critical. An OR-ing FET is also available.
The LCM600 series supports a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, providing design flexibility for applications in a variety of demanding environments.
