Cirrus Logic CS42L73 Smart Audio CODEC is a high-quality, ultra low-power audio CODEC for smart phone applications that allows these power-hungry devices to conserve energy and extend battery life by offloading audio-related tasks typically reserved for the applications processor. The CS42L73 features three serial audio ports and asynchronous sample rate converters, allowing this smart audio CODEC to manage the complex routing, processing, and mixing of a variety of multiformat audio signals while increasing overall system efficiency. This Cirrus Logic device has a rated power consumption as low as 4 mW during a voice call, the lowest power consumption of a product with asynchronous sample-rate converters and a digital mixing engine in the signal path. The CS42L73 audio CODEC features two analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and four digital-to-analog converters (DACs) based on an advanced multibit Delta Sigma architecture. The DACs can drive five outputs, while the analog front end supports both line and microphone inputs with both programmable gain amplifiers and automatic level control.Learn More
