DPS1133 Power Switch: Diodes Inc. DPS1133 Power Switch is a high-voltage switch that supports Fast Role Swap (FRS) of USB power delivery specification release 3.0, V1.1 (USB PD 3.0). The device operates across all USB PD 3.0 industry standard voltage levels and is generally populated next to the increasingly adopted USB Type-C™ connector. The DPS1133 combines two very low, RDS(ON)_TYP at ≤30mΩ N-MOSFET switches. This allows for a maximum continuous current of up to 3.5A. The N-MOSFET switch is guaranteed to turn ON within the tSrcFRSwap time so that VBUS is at the USB PD 3.0 required VSAFE5V voltage level. Comprehensive fault detection and recovery mechanisms such as input under voltage lock-out, reverse voltage & current blocking, thermal shut-down, overcorrect & short-circuit protection help ensure system integrity. Other features include adjustable DV/DT, current and voltage limit, current monitor output and port discharge via the onboard 115Ω resistor. Many parameters are adjustable via external resistors for usability and flexibility. The power switch is packaged in a halogen and antimony free, RoHS compliant QFN package. The thermally efficient QFN package provides sufficiently low surface temperature during operation. The device’s small 4mm x 4mm footprint and height of 0.8mm make the DPS1133 ideal for end systems. Applications include docking stations, universal and multimedia hubs, FPTVs, mobile & desktop computing, robotics, AR/VR goggles, and more.
